Introduction	Sherrill grew up in a cattle-farming family in South West Queensland, and now with her husband Justin and 3 boys, operates a beef cattle feedlot and hay growing business near Roma. Sherrill’s aim is to increase public awareness of the fact that Australia’s agricultural commodities are the amongst the most desirable in the world; being free from many diseases, have carefully monitored chemical use, animal welfare is a priority, and that environmental stewardship and sustainability is integral to this process. She is committed to working to improve the outlook of Australia’s agricultural industries through constructive legislation and policies. Awarded the 2015 RIRDC Rural Women’s Award for Queensland, Sherrill identified the need for farmers to showcase their practices and high standards themselves, rather than relying on big corporations to create suppliers assurance programs requiring financial membership for accreditation for practices that farmers already undertake. Sherrill believes agriculture is vital in Australia’s future and the integrity of Australian agricultural industries, farmers and food production must be protected.
