| Introduction | I'm a married father of five children ranging in age from a 37 y/o son to a 13 y/o daughter. I retired from the Air Force in 1993, having spent 20 years as a public health specialist. I'm a recovering addict and a broken disciple of Jesus Christ. These life facts are reflected in my interests and my work; my abilities and disabilities have helped to make my family what it is today... and for that I am periodically proud and ashamed. I wanted to create - and sustain - a journal for my children (and their children and so forth for ever)that I would fill with deep wisdom, honesty, and accurate portraits. I hoped that these qualities would then reflect to my descendants what a truly wonderful, kind, and valuable creature I was while I graced this earth with my humble presence. The submission to honesty and accuracy pretty much ended the fantasy about what I'd be remembered as. So, now I'm just writing, and letting my kids (and anyone else who stops by to read) decide for themselves what kind of creature I am....and that is the best I can do. |
