| Introduction | Sir James Acuff hails from the state of Tennessee. He is currently semi-retired after 37 years in the land surveying business. Seems hard to remember a time when he was not on or around horses. Never cared for just 'riding a horse" for the sake of riding, but riding a horse with the thought of the horse's role in history such as the great Warhorses rode by the Knights of old or the calvary horses used by the great Armies of the World. He became very interested in Jousting over ten years ago and in 2004 attended a two week school geared toward becoming a jouster. Since then, he has jousted in Maryland, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia and will be jousting in Colorado in September. He rides his 2000 pound, 18 hand Percheron War Horse named Hercules the Magnificent which he has raised and trained since Hercules was six months old. His goal is to bring Honor and Chivalry back into the original Sport of Kings, the Tournament Joust. He jousts under his actual family crest as Sir Ijams Von Ackahoff of the Rhineland. |
