| Introduction | This melting-pot is a memoir. My attempt at something like Matt Batt's Sugarhouse. Batt makes fun of himself as he remodels his money-pit. I'm trying to illuminate some of the darker corners of my home of a life by laughing at those times when I took myself a little too serious. The plot includes many characters, but principally it's my great wife Ember, two boys David O. and Evan, three girls Jenna, Nancy, Emeline, me, and six chickens in suburban Utah. |

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?
Flexability is a Taoist virtue that sees no limits. Expandability is a capitalist virtue that is never satisfied. In theory I like the Taoists over the capitalists. In practice I own too much stuff and waste too much time moving it around.
