| Introduction | Shanks is a nickname I've had since I was 6. I'm 25 now. I've been racing bikes since I was 15 years old. Its turned from hobby into my lifestyle. Instead of fitting it into my life, I fit life around it. In 2002 I decided to take some time off from school to make travel my life. It has paid off well. I've learned so much, and made so many friends in the years since. When I return to school it will be only more worth while being more mature. This year I'm riding mostly for myself as I learnt being on a road team as a sprinter is no good. Out of Province I represent Cycling BC as that is where my coaching is based, In BC I fly the colors of Peninsula Cycles, the shop I co-manage. I take my training from Richard Wooles of Cycling BC. He is very tough but allows me to use my own brain when training. In some sick way I enjoy the nights I have to lay on the floor after an ergo workout! |
