| Introduction | Hallo my name is Gustav Klimt. I am best known from the painting "The Kiss." I dabble in the field of arts, I can paint and draw. I believe this myself and a few other people say that they believe this too. But I'm not certain of whether it's true. There has been times where my work has often offended various groups of religion or people from the scenes of nude women. Like the time my 3 paintings i designed for the great hall was destroyed by retreating NAZI forces. But i do not mean to offend anyone, but instead expressing ideas such as that the mysteries of life are ultimately impenetrable and that human existence consists of nothing more than the infinitely repeated cycle of birth, copulation and death, which I show in my painting "the three ages of women." I have never painted a self-portrait. I am less interested in myself as a subject for a painting than I am in other people, above all women. There is nothing special about me. I am a painter who paints day after day from morning to night. If you do however want to know something about me you ought to look carefully at my pictures. I believe that one can learn about me through my work. |
