Introduction Patti Murphy began her television career baking bread and waiting on tables to pay for ‘Acting School’. One day while serving a white glove lobster and champagne brunch for CN hotel executives aboard the “Bluenose II” sailing in Halifax Harbour, she realized she was hooked. On the food biz. That launched Murphy’s exploration into the culinary world as a Head Waiter, Bartender, Restaurant Manager, Health Food Store Manager, Event Planner, Caterer, Food Stylist, Food Journalist, Bread Baker, Service Trainer and a serious vegetable gardener. Recently, in her next career path as TV producer, she was able to fuse her passion for food with her job. The recent hit Food Network show: Chuck’s Day Off and the radical 52 eps of an ‘iron chef for kids’ for CBC called Surprise It’s Edible Incredible are prime examples. In between shows, Patti takes off to live and work with the locals in some remote part of the world, to learn their cuisine. She also volunteers on her daughter’s organic vegetable farm just west of the island.
