| Introduction | I am a retired biomedical science researcher. I started my second career in 2009. A dear friend and high school classmate, Stella, who is a well-known writer, encouraged me to send my articles to World Journal, a Chinese newspaper published in North America. She, my two other good friends, Mimi and Nancy, and my sister, also a writer, helped me by editing my first article. I was a little surprised that it was accepted. Since then many of my articles have been published. I always loved art. I tried my hand at painting when I was in medical school, but my science career was too demanding for me to pursue my second avocation any further. After retirement, I enrolled in Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago and began my formal career as a painter. . The photo above is my portrait by Modigliani. |
