| Introduction | This blog is not about the triumph of medicine, our pursuit of a miracle, or even the memoir of my family's battles with illness. Don't come here looking for happy endings and Hallmark moments and Oprah Winfrey style orgies of self-help. This is a story of love, joy, acceptance, and using pain and suffering to gain wisdom and insight into the meaning of life. It is the story of a hard-charging, Main Line soccer mom who learned that a child's success or achievement has nothing to do with being a good mother. It is the story of a recovering know it all, who thought she had it all figured out, until a 2 year old showed her she had it all wrong. This is my attempt to make sense - and learn - and teach in the wake of a tragedy so horrible you couldn't have conjured it up in your worst nightmares.
