Introduction Nathan Elkins is Assistant Professor of Art History (Greek and Roman Art) at Baylor University and an expert in Roman coinage, iconography, and games. Prior to arriving at Baylor University he held a postdoctoral appointment at the Yale University Art Gallery and lectured in the Department of Classics at Yale University. He was also a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt. Elkins is author of Monuments in Miniature: Architecture on Roman Coinage. Numismatic Studies 29. (New York: American Numismatic Society, 2015) and co-editor, with Stefan Krmnicek, of 'Art in the Round': New Approaches to Ancient Coin Iconography. Tübinger Archäologische Forschungen 16. (Rahden: Verlag Marie Leidorf, 2014). He is a Fellow of the American Numismatic Society and a Fellow of the Royal Numismatic Society.
