| Introduction | Trying to appreciate the small gifts life has to offer. One day at a time. |
| Interests | My name is Jen. I like to laugh and am known for my quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and snarkiness. I am an observer and a very laid back person. I like my alone time and find it soothes much. Being religious affiliations seem so important to many of you, I believe in scones...solitude...puppies...ocean air...a glass of wine...my kids...seeing new places...trees...the sweet scent of gardenias...raised Catholic, practice nothing... I have lived in 3 states in USA (west coast, east coast and Midwest), Bermuda and Argentina. I have seen and met different people and their way of life. I enjoy learning about people and how they live. I think moving around has made it easier for me to talk to many, but it also makes it hard to connect deeply. I hope to change that! I have two sons. They are at that stage in life, where I know they still live here because each morning when I wake, I'm out of food, my garbage is overflowing and my sink is full of dishes. It's an endless battle. They keep eating and eating. And they are skinny!!!! I have been a DJ, worked in the animal welfare field, a beer brewery and have been a food writer. I have hopes and dreams to travel in the future. I am a bit obsessed with the England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. But what I long for most is a quiet, simple life with true friendship, food and laughs. I'd like to learn how to garden, draw better Celtic Knots, learn about herbal healing, terrariums, edible flowers....because at the moment, I am like a plant hospice worker. Speeding every plant quicker to Jesus. And my drawings...well they look like I may have some sort of muscular disease, because a toddler draws better than I can. |
| Favorite movies | Weighed down by the monotony and predictability of American formulated movies, I adore foreign movies. But don't get me wrong, I do like American movies too. But there are so many where I'd like to ram an ice pick into my head, they are so bad. For example, musicals. What's up with that? Who breaks out in song and dance like that? I am embarrassed for the actors participating in one of those. I understand in theater, it keeps people from falling asleep. But in a movie? |
| Favorite music | i love many different kinds of music, genres and time periods. I'm at a loss, though, when I hear rap, country and opera. No offense to Bach, but the harpsichord sounds like a dying cat. The 70s really didnt turn out any good tunes. Seriously, they were all so stoned on drugs they thought bringing in a church organ and a cowbell was a form of artistry. WTH |
| Favorite books | Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Paulo Coehlo, Kate Morton, Bill Bryson |
