About me

Introduction My plan is to do the first half of an overland journey through Africa which I have been daydreaming about since 1969 whilst my colleagues thought I was working. Sitting at my desk, I had a lot of other fantasies too, which I am not prepared to divulge in this forum. This year I am going overland from Cairo to Nairobi - the slow way. Mainly following the course of the Blue Nile. With lots of diversions through, for example, the Sahara and the Ethiopian Highlands. It should last about 3 months. Next year, Nairobi to Cape Town. If I don't like it there is always South America - which I know I do like. And I think it likes me. The Northern half is supposed to be the tough one. Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya. Have you ever tried to get a Sudanese Visa? If not, I'll tell you about it sometime. I still haven't got one, so I may be coming back home sooner than planned.
