IntroductionThis little blog began as the archive for a series of daily e-mails I sent out during the pandemic. I had two goals for the e-mails, both drawn from my career in mental health: to give readers a brief daily break from the ongoing dreadful news, and to help them stay grounded and centered at an extraordinarily difficult time. I pursued those goals for nearly three months. Then George Floyd was murdered, and everything changed. Originally described as "daily messages to lift us up during a time of pandemic," as of June 4 this blog has shifted to occasional postings around systemic racism, White privilege, and building community solidarity. These posts are for informational purposes only and are not intended to provide, or to substitute for, professional mental health care.
