| Favorite music | With the notable exceptions of hard core rap and death metal bands, I pretty much like everything, though to differing degrees, of course. These days I'm liking Colbie Caillat, K.T. Tunstall, and Coldplay. As far as all-time great stuff, well, I'd have to say Queen, Bill Withers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marvin Gaye, The Police, Patsy Cline, ummmm....way too many to mention here. Update: Currently digging Martin Sexton and Ben Folds. |
| Favorite books | "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson, "1776" by David McCullough, "The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman, "An American Life" by Ronald Reagan, "Democracy in America" by Alexis de Tocqueville, "T. R., The Last Romantic" by H.W. Brands Update: Just got done with "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell. Really liked it. Just starting "Blink" by the same author. I'll let you know. Also currently listening to audiobook, "The Journals of Lewis and Clark" Compelling stuff, to say the least. |
