Introduction	I ran my first Marathon in 2001 (London) and when registering for the race I saw an advert for the Marathon Des Sables, however circumstances dictated it would be another 5 years until I applied. 2007 I applied for the 2009 MDS and got in. The 24th Marathon des Sables lived up to its name as the "Toughest Footrace on Earth", as weather and uncertainty added to the distance. However I finished in 485th place (840 starters), sadly though a running buddy of mine Alex Flynn had to pull out midway due to serious illness, from which he has since recovered, but announce in July that he had been diagnosed the Parkinsons Disease. He wanted to raise £1 Million for Cure Parkinson Trust, so I proposed I would race 1 million metres in a year to promote the Charity and support him in his races, a task we duly completed in September 2010 (Alex now intends to make the 10 Million mark). Running has now extended into Duathlons and Triathlons, and I have been fortunate to be supported by great companies, and I will continue to run, swim & cycle and have the aim of reaching 50 marathons by my 50th Birthday (10 now completed
