Introduction | You may have typed in this name in relation to Jane Austen's protagonist. I'm not her. I'm close to her age and a bit of a nosey parker, but that's about where the similarity ends. Oh, except that she's IN literature, and I WRITE literature, so maybe we could be friends after all. At 23, I feel pretty young to be weary and cynical of the world already, but as an over-qualified and under-employed university graduate, that’s what I am. I have a lifetime’s experience and training in the theatre, starting off as an actress and encountering everything from stage manager to director along the way. Although I’m no longer in love with theatre, I still have the urge to tell stories, which was always the root cause of my passion in the first place. So as it stands, I’m trying to carve a career in writing whilst simultaneously paying the rent working in the pub that I live in. It’s a fairly convenient lifestyle for the time being... |
