Introduction The journey is never done. After 20 years in education, I have moved to the private sector to support education in a new way. With a change in focus, I have created a new space for my blogging. Here you will find my random travels across physical and virtual spaces. I post serious topics with a whimsical-chocolate coating. I am primarily focused on how we continue to transform teaching and learning through a shift in focus from schooling to learning journeys. I will share adventures I have had in my 'day-job' or should we say 'day/night/weekends/I-am-too-much-of-a-geek' job. However that doesn't stop me from taking a side trip to read about the new robotics in the Boston or passing through France for a video call or dropping in on my friends in Virtual Worlds. Education: Teacher in Rural and Urban schools (WXXI Teacher of the Year), Principal for Online Program, Director of Learning and School Improvement, Online course designer and facilitator. PhD in Teaching, Curriculum and Change. Geek side: Installed network for Internet access (literally drilled holes), Set-up and maintained web-servers, programmed a web-app pulling from SQL, developed an educational space in Second Life.
