| Introduction | is an Italian anthropologist. She is a Research Fellow of the CRIA -Lisbon University Institute and a chercheure associée of the Groupe de Sociologie Politique et Morale, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. She has recently been a Visiting Scholar at the anthropology department of Stanford University. She holds a Ph.D in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) and the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. She has done research about Mary Magdalene pilgrims since 2002 and is the author of "Looking for Mary Magdalene" (Oxford University Press, November 2012). She recently co-edited "Encounters of Body and Soul in Contemporary Religious Practices; Anthropological Reflections" (Berghahn Books, EASA series) and "Gender and Power in Contemporary Spirituality; Ethnographic Approaches" (Routledge, forthcoming, 2013) Contact: annafedele@yahoo.com |
