| Introduction | I write columns for The Journal, Newcastle upon Tyne and for Press Gazette in London; that's where my blogs tend to have first appeared. I broadcast, give talks, make occasional documentaries. . . work, in other words, when I want to and at whatever I want to. If you call that retirement, I'm retired. Oh, and by the way, 'NoSexNeededAnyMore' - the address that seems rather insensitive towards my wife? It's actually an in-joke, given that my newly retired friend Murray in the USA called HIS blog NoSocksNeededAnyMore, so I thought MY version would be amusing . . . apparently NOT! Past histories can be boring but, briefly, I have: EDITED the Daily Mirror (UK)and the Daily Telegraph (Sydney); DEPUTY EDITED The Australian; ASSISTANT EDITED The Sun (UK), Daily News (New York) and New York Post; CONSULTANT EDITED the Sunday Mirror (UK); WORKED as a young journalist for the Daily Express, Newcastle Journal and Warrington Guardian. As a broadcaster I have worked mainly as a presenter for LBC (London) and Talk Radio (UK) and as a regular guest on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 5 |
