Introduction	When I’m not hanging out with my family, volunteering at my daughter’s school, swimming at the local Y, or complaining about how little our society seems to value the work of parenting, I’m trying to do something about it. I'm the founder of an organization called ParentsWork whose mission is to raise awareness about the challenges we face in being able to care for our families and to unite parents across the Chicagoland area (and eventually, the State of Illinois) in advocating for change. Given how busy our lives can be, I started this blog as a virtual kitchen table where we can come together to talk about our personal parenting experiences and share our ideas for how to get the support we deserve.
