Introduction	I'm a Filipina living in The Netherlands for 26 years now. When I came to The Netherlands in 1983, it was like starting all over again from grade one, not being able to understand and speak the Dutch language. Now, I have a fulltime career which I combine with my family life. I am happily married and have two daughters. I finished a master's degree, a combination of child and youth psychology and cross-cultural psychology. I have a satisfying job in an NGO as project leader for integration and participation , and I am also active in the local politics, as a city councilor, in the city where I live. What I am trying to say is "it doesn't matter in which situation you come from. If you put your mind to it, you will get to where you want to be." In other words, becoming all you can become in this journey called life. For after all, our life is a God-given gift and the best way to thank God for our life is to cultivate it and become all that we can become in this journey called life.
