About me

Introduction	I am a senior majoring in Early Childhood Education. I will begin my Methods placement in the fall semester and will graduate May 2012. I am a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and Alpha Lambda Delta Academic Fraternity. I enjoy running, rollerblading, spending time with my family, being with my friends, taking my golden retrievers to the Bark Park, and cooking. My dream grade levels to teach are Kindergarten or 1st grade. During this time, children begin to build their foundation of learning that will support their entire academic careers. Education is a series of layers. Each year one layer of knowledge is placed upon the previous years’ layer. Primary grade levels are the base of the layers that must be well-built. It is the early childhood teacher’s responsibility to help children create a strong and sturdy academic foundation that will stabilize lifelong-learning. My ideal classroom will have a mixture of teacher-directed instructional approaches and student-initiated learning.
