Introduction New York Guru was born and raised in New York City. She grew up on video games beginning with Nintendo's NES to her current aspiration of saving up enough money to have an Xbox 360 to call her own (hey, college life ain't easy).

Along with the gamer lifestyle, her parents unintentionally made music a part of her life, whether it were her father's vinyls playing on the phonograph or classical on the radio to lull her to sleep, music was always present.

New York Guru enjoyed movies much like the rest of us until she met her current boyfriend (she is very lucky to be happily taken by such a smashing man), he lives for movies, and has made them a passion for her too.

Last but not least, this college student is studying to become a writer. Therefore it is only apt to say our girl loves books. She cannot resist walking into Borders without aching to buy a book or leaf through one, perhaps the way some people buy shoes, she buys books. Although, do not ask who her favorite author is, because it is dangerous for setting her off on a rant. Similar to how asking who her favorite band is would do the same.
