Introduction	SpunkysMum is a transplant from Canada, having moved to the U.S. in 1999 after gaining (dual)citizenship in 1998. She became interested in politics, a dominant theme of this blog, in 2004, amidst many factors and events - reading Laura Ingraham's book "Shut Up and Sing," then Ann Coulter's books "Slander" and "Treason"; the death of President Reagan and the awe-inspiring outpour of love and reverence for his memory; the 2004 Presidential elections and finding in President Bush a hero that defied all preconceptions of politicians: honest, truly more concerned about America's present and future than about his own image, unflinching. SpunkysMum fell deeply in love with America that year, and learned the answers to some questions she had had over the years. For instance: Why do Americans think their country is better than all the rest? The answer: Because it is. SpunkysMum loves freedom and hates injustice. America is the perfect match for her.
