Introduction	I'm an English PhD graduate student, and I dream of making film studies and literary studies blend in harmonious, publishable, book-length perfection. This blog is to consider cinema and film with a generous spirit, in consideration of why a movie is doing what its doing, and how we can love movies more!!
Interests	I love film that makes me change how I think about the world, the night more than the morning, breakfast more than any other meal, people who reflect and think critically about why they do what they do, and on the mint&chocolate vs. peanut butter&chocolate divide, I will take either!
Favorite movies	Oh honey! That's what the blog is for! But I do rate each flick on a couple of things: Genre - how's it doing against others of the same? Epidermal... - does its representations of folks of color feel balanced? Visual/Audio- is is fun to see & hear? Gender Rep - how's it treating women & men? Narrative - is the story tight? Overall - what's my gut say about it?
Favorite music	whatever moves me - and I don't mean to turn off the radio!
Favorite books	so many, so many.... The Bluest Eye, The Eyre Affair, The Age of Innocence, Comedy: American Style, Plum Bun, A Pack of Lies,....
