Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
A myth that has pervaded public thinking for centuries, for pennies taste like sour carrot. Only a select few people know this, possibly due to the fact that sour carrots are an acquired taste; more likely because pennies have been extinct since 1947 and so people's memories of what a penny tastes like has faded over the years, rather like a drawn out version of Chinese whispers.
