Introduction	I am tickled by the silly and absurd. I daydream a lot, climb into imaginary scenarios. Things dance for me along the freeway, jump into action, choreographed for films I'll never make. I haven't painted for a long while. My hand is still. I think of the sunflowers in the garden not yet opened, in spite of stalks the breadth of fruit trees. Cooking is the same if I can climb into it; mindless food prep isn't fun. I cook every day. Kitchen knives replace my pallet knife, carving, reshaping vegetables, cutting faceted surfaces, peeling skins that curl in low mounds, shimmer with sudden moisture.
