| Introduction | In my early life, I looked a lot like Eyore, the sullen donkey in "Winnie the Pooh." Saved at age 24, I began to learn much. One thing I discovered is that there is an edge to my personality with a high metabolism for the somewhat extreme (balanced with a passion for intact survival!). Life is short. I do not want to miss a moment of living, moving, and being and I don't want to take for granted the gifts of physical health, creation, and family. While I may not live in a hut in Africa or be on the summit of a high mountain, it is good to know Jesus and to live out His grand adventure where I have been called. Wife of an exceptional man, "bonus mom" to two fun younger adults, nurse, friend and suburb dweller in the Pacific Northwest, "Andrea's Addies" chronicles these adventures. Coined from the name of my hiking friend's backpack, "addie" is a double nod to adventure and the addition it brings to the "dailies" if we fix our eyes higher than the horizon. As Helen Keller said, "Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all." It's all a matter of perspective. |
