| Introduction | "Ad hoc - Contrived purely for the purpose in hand rather than planned carefully in advance." I have had a 25-year career in environmental advocacy, most recently as head of PennFuture. I have worked on environmental and energy policy, have a keen interest in Pennsylvania state politics. This experience informs my views and has honed my BS detector. But that's not all. I am easily entertained by the simple things in life - the change of seasons, gardening, cooking, and the vicissitudes of families. I also like thinking about those things that make my head explode – like the size of the universe or a quark. So the title Ad hoc is both an invitation and a warning to readers. These blogs will not be planned carefully in advance. |
