| Introduction | Born in Isfahan, Iran, in 1949 and graduated from the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 1974. I obtained my BSc and Pharm.D. degree from the same university and my PhD from the University of Surrey in England in 1979. I was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the School of Pharmacy at Isfahan University in 1980. After teaching for five years, in 1984 I was awarded a visiting scholar fellowship and spent one year at Purdue University. In 1986 I was appointed a scientific position at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory at UC Berkeley where I worked for 16 years. Currently, I am a Hospital Pharmacist at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, California, focusing on Natural Medicine. I also am a contributing editor for the US Pharmacist Journal. I have published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and articles and have a US patent. |
