Introduction	As a social anthropologist living and working in London, I have a special interest in material culture and the histories objects tell us. As a girl, I have a special weakness for jewelry. JEWELLERY DETECTIVE is based around the process of 'reading' vintage and antique jewelry pieces I have found to discover their hidden histories. What do the objects tell us about their social lives and about the eras when they were made? My earlier blog SERENDIPITOUS LECTURES was based around the idea of choosing a daily random book from my library, sharing a random paragraph from it, and adding eclectic, gossipy commentary and historical context. This is now being turned into a book review blog, available at www.serendipitouslectures.co.uk
