| Introduction | I'm a long time horse racing fan with a love for the handicapping portion of the game. Growing up my neighbor had horses and I remember them getting out one night. I leaned out my window, as they came thundering by I was impressed by how powerful they looked and sounded. I remember sitting in front of the TV as a kid when Alysheba won the Kentucky Derby and from there I was hooked. I always tell my wife there is nothing like standing at the rail with your tickets as the gates open. Unfortunately, I live in a state that does not allow pari-mutuel wagering. A few years ago I sat beside someone from New York at the Preakness. After talking for most of the day he suggested that I put my selections and thoughts on a blog, since I couldn't bet. And that is what I have done with Moneyonthenose.com. I mostly handicap the Virgina and Maryland circuit (Laurel Park, Pimlico and Colonial Downs). But I also post selections for the major weekend races as well. I hope my thoughts and selections help you pick a few winners and most importantly, win or lose, remember to enjoy this beautiful sport! |
