| Introduction | David P. Offutt, also known as "The Gastronomic Gardener,” has lived outside Chicago for almost 40 years. He has a passion for gardening and for cooking. His knowledge and skill are mostly self-taught. After years of developing his perennial garden which blooms from first thaw through first frost, he has turned his attention towards vegetable gardening and food production. This interest combines perfectly with his obsession for cooking and eating. His philosophy of “get the best ingredients you can, and prepare them simply,” has delighted friends, neighbors and guests for many years. Recently David has chosen to share what he has learned with the community, to educate, excite, and encourage cooks and gardeners alike across all skill levels. Welcome to the Gastronomic Gardener! |
