IntroductionElaine Hardman Philadelphia, PA For 33 years I taught students in New York and at the International School of Kuala Lumpur when our family lived there. I am a wife, mother, mother-in-law, novice gardener,. I was a long time flute player but my fingers no longer work well. I was a walker but those knees are now cranky. With my husband, I was a traveler but our last trip was a month in Myanmar in 2019 and then COVID. For a long while I made pottery but had to give it up. I enjoyed the rhythm of throwing, of making miniatures with fingertips or large forms with the force of my body. While there will be no new pots, there is still honor to have my work involved in the daily lives of people. In my tin nest I cut, fold, crinkle, bend, pound, hammer, smash, drop, layer, change, punch metals. It’s a joy to work with color and to hear the snaps of metal bits falling into piles of unneeded metal materials. Call to shop in my studio 585 808 0385. Past member of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Allegany Artisans, Allegany Arts Association, Allegany County Tourism Board, Alfred Village Band. Current board member for Art For Rural America and the Fassett GreenSpace Project
