| Introduction | After graduation from South Houston High School, I enlisted in the Naval Air. I was promoted to ATN2 and was the second tech on a P2V-7 which specialized in anti-submarine warfare. I served during the Cuban Crisis from Key West taking part in the blockade of Cuba. I did a short tour in Newfoundland and a longer tour in Iceland making trips to Norway and Denmark before a 'Unitas' tour of South America. My military obligation time repaid me with an education that led to a good job with IBM after my tour and providing a tour of the world I would never otherwise seen. I went back to the University of Houston before being accepted for a Customer Engineering job with IBM in Houston 1965. Lacking a college degree inhibited my career somewhat with IBM, but I managed to move through several jobs including Service Planning Rep in Poughkeepsie, NY before taking a transfer to Dallas, Tx as a Product Coordinator in 1984. I moved to sales as a Systems Engineer and IBM Salesman before taking a job as Sales Specialist in Techline. |
