Introduction	I am relatively young and I still have limited experience in living in society where I get the entire gist of the way the government works. Even at a young age, I still have a fairly molded idea of how to make political choices and how to assess what the government is doing from my learning in school. Along with school education, my involvement in debate in and out of school has aided me in interpreting issues and finding solutions. I am in the “new age” of politics and considering all issues at hand now and throughout history, I am independent but leaning to the lightly conservative side. I'm taking this course to broaden my horizon of the United States government. In my learning and coursework I hope to get a good and well rooted idea of what our government does, its function, purpose, process, and ways to improve it.
