| Introduction | Nickname is Cambo (from my Army days. I was an Op-Sig in RASigs Corp.). First licensed in 1983 as a "K" call. Upgraded to full call 6 months later. Back then license tests were every 6 months. Had a number of callsigns as I moved around Australia a lot. I have had VK3UA since about 2010. I like camping and bush-walking so portable operation of Amateur Radio is an obvious extension of that. I like to activate National Parks and Summits (SOTA) with battery operated portable radios and antennas. I use SSB and CW (about 15 wpm). My preferred operating band is 10 Metres, however I use all bands as Ten is sporadic and I can rely on lower bands for reliable communications. Catch you on the airwaves. 73 es QRZ Ten |
