| Introduction | I'm an award-winning features journalist who spent the last five years working as a reporter in Chicago, Illinois. In September I left my job and life in America behind to spend a year as a voluntary worker in Nottingham, taking part in a service program called Discipleship Year at Trent Vineyard in Lenton. Along the way I started writing about my impressions of England, and the next thing I knew I was keeping blogs for local papers on both side of the Atlantic.
