| Introduction | Wow. It's been three years since I moved to New York City to carve out a life for myself. I had just finished up my master's in journalism at the SI Newhouse School at Syracuse (Go Orange!) It's been a tad longer since my pc days in West Africa (Woo CEG Kouande!) Curious people. Awestriking places. Meals as experiences. Reporting. Writing. Editing. The good story. A heart-thumping, pulse-quickening, piercing, compelling story. And never forgetting that the more I see/know, the more there is that I don't know at all. |
| Interests | Listening to music, getting lost in the city, trying to speak french, travelling, reading mags, running in the park, cooking dinner with friends, playing the four chords I just learned on the guitar, playing a little piano, and sometimes...when no one is home ... full-on belting out the lyrics as they hit me |
| Favorite movies | When Harry Met Sally, Amelie, Out of Africa, Harold and Maude, The English Patient, St. Elmo's Fire, A Room with a View. Yep. I've got the die-hard romantic gene -- definitely seems a curse as much as a blessing at times ;) |
| Favorite music | World music rocks (anything with drumming, and vocals in some foreign language I don't understand), acoustic singer-song-writer-y stuff, Cake, Bjork, Bela Fleck, Jack Johnson, Belle and Sebastian, The Stills, Feist, Nora (you know who I mean), Wilco, David Gray, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire |
| Favorite books | The Great Ghatsby, bar none. |
When you've got water stuck in your ear, how do you get it out?
It's not what Doc recommends, but I never can resist the urge to poke a Q-tip around in there. Luckily, I haven't punctured an eardrum...yet.
