Introduction | I have a Masters Degree (Research) in Education and about twenty years experience of working with people, young and old(er), elite and beginners, as a coach, mentor and teacher. I currently work as Education Researcher at Moodle Headquarters after teaching humanities at several public high schools in Perth, Western Australia for 10 years. Yet little of these titles, projects and accomplishments matter if I can’t engage people with and around me… My creed is “what if?” and I often tinker with ICT, particularly with Moodle, Twitter and Web2.0. Rather than teaching people, I prefer to make them think and learn together (hence the Latin ‘educare’ tagline of this space). I am fascinated by the possibilities of rhizomatic education, connectivism and the ideas of ‘open’ movement(s), afforded increasingly easily by digital technologies. I have been playing and coaching water polo from the lowest to highest competitive levels for 30 years. Recently, I've taken up running. I live with family near Fremantle, Western Australia, very close to Perth. |
