| Introduction | Kent is an instructor for the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center, St. Cloud State University. Kent has taught senior driving courses to 100's of Minnesota drivers over the age of 55. He is the author of "The Baby Boomers Second Driver's Manual" In teaching Senior drivers, Kent draws on his experiences as an avid driver and a state trooper for over 30 years. During the course of his career, he investigated over 1,500 vehicle crashes, observed millions of drivers, driven over 700,000 miles in a squad car and issued 1000’s of citations for traffic violations. He patrolled both interstate metropolitan freeways and rural patrol stations. As a law enforcement instructor, He taught classes in traffic enforcement, vehicle and traffic law, investigations, driver’s license law, law enforcement ethics and driver’s improvement. Kent retired in 2008 as the MN State Patrol District Commander of the Duluth District with the rank of Captain. |
