Introduction	I am a writer, a graduate in political science from the University of Kentucky, I currently live and write in Lexington, but grew up in a large Irish family in Grayson, Kentucky. I'm a member of Sisters in Crime, both the Ohio River Valley and GUPPIES Chapters, the Historical Novel Society, and the Short Mystery Fiction Society. My stories have appeared in anthologies, on online short fiction sites, and in micro-fiction collections. Circle of Dishonor, my debut novel, is set during the turbulent political upheaval of post Civil War Kentucky at a time when murder was more common in Kentucky than it was anywhere else in the United States.

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?

No. My science teacher wouldn't have dared bring a hammer into the room. Guns hadn't been banned from school when I was there.
