About me

IntroductionThe Marylebone Group of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham began formally on Saturday 3 September 2011, the Feast of St Gregory the Great, when three former members of the congregation of St Mary's Bourne St were received into the full communion of the Catholic Church by Monsignor Keith Newton, the Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, at St James's Spanish Place. The members of the group are particularly grateful to Fr Christopher Colven, Rector of St James's, for his welcome and assistance. Given where we have come from, we are also pleased to note the happy co-incidence of our group's name : the origin of the name Marylebone is the local Anglican parish church, St Marylebone, which was originally St Mary on/at the Bourne. We look to play a full part both in the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham and in the parish of St James's Spanish Place, and hope to be of assistance to those who might be contemplating coming into the Catholic Church from the Anglican Communion.
