| Introduction | Chris Cander is a novelist, children’s book author and freelance writer. Her more than three hundred articles and essays have appeared in such national publications as FamilyFun, Texas Monthly, and Oxygen. She is represented by Jane Gelfman of Gelfman Schneider Literary Agents, Inc. Her debut children’s picture book is due to be published spring 2013. An alumna of Ploughshares and Bread Loaf conferences, Chris is also an active member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Author’s Guild, and MENSA. She lives with her family in Houston, Texas. |
