Introduction | I'm a world-traveling, book-reading, tree-hugging, soccer-loving, adventure-having, joke-cracking, ever-learning twenty-something Registered Nurse, who clearly likes hyphens. These days I'm more "gitana" than nurse. My experiences, about which I pretentiously like to talk, include a semester abroad in Grenoble, France; a month-long medical Spanish program in San Jose, Costa Rica; a 10,000-mile, cross-country roadtrip; a month spent WWOOFing at a hostel in San Luis Obispo, CA; and miscellaneous other "quick trips" to various cities in the US, Canada, Barbados, and Western Europe. |
Interests | Travel, though "obsession" would be more appropriate than "interest;" The Great Outdoors, particularly kayaking, rock climbing, and snowboarding; adrenaline rushes; film and literature, from the greats to shameless pleasures that probably shouldn't even be in the same category (here's looking at you, Mean Girls); coffee, green tea, foreign foods, collecting beer and wine labels, foreign languages; college football, every level of soccer, NHL; cool shoes, bad puns, anything that glows in the dark, and using the most pretentious diction possible... |
Favorite Movies | Atonement, Hotel Rwanda, Fix, Albatross, Casablanca, Saving Private Ryan, Once, the Bourne trilogy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail... |
Favorite Music | Red Hot Chili Peppers, Death Cab for Cutie, Paramore, The Shins, Wolfmother, The Tallest Man on Earth, Metronomy, Broadway musicals (esp. Rent), miscellaneous movie scores and soundtracks... |
Favorite Books | The Alchemist; Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close; Atonement; How Soccer Explains the World; Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging; To Kill a Mockingbird; Eat, Pray, Love; A Prayer for Owen Meany; Michener, Rutherfurd... |
