| Introduction | There are currently 36 states in the United States that have legalized the use of medical marijuana through various programs with hopefully more coming soon within the next decade or so. In addition to that, 14 of these states have also legalized recreational marijuana. What this means is that, in those specific states, you no longer have to obtain a medical marijuana card in order to use cannabis legally. You only need to be over the age of 21. However, this begs the question, is there a point to getting a medical marijuana card if recreational cannabis is legalized in your state? Perhaps you are dealing with a health condition or chronic pain in which you may qualify for using medical marijuana, but you can also just get cannabis recreationally in your state. Why go through the hassle of obtaining your marijuana card when you don’t need to? |
