Occupation Photographer/Human Rights Activist Yoga Instructor
Location Washington, DC, United States
Introduction I love photography, yoga, traveling and being an advocate for human rights. I try to elevate world awareness through images. I travel to places that have been affected by war and genocide. Wedding photography and, portraits paid my bills in the US Virgin Islands for the past 20 years, to cover my traveling experiences. I have relocated to Virginia, Washington DC area, to be more active in Human Rights Issues, especially involving women and children. I have a wonderful son, a beautiful grandson. The birth of my grandson has inspired me, even more than I could ever imagine. I have a story to tell him as he grows. We all have a story, it's important to tell it!!! I have many friends that are very supportive of the humanitarian work I have done and will continue to do. November 18, 2008 I was inducted into the International Freelance Photographers Hall of Fame for "Humanitarian Achievements in Photography". March 29, 2011 I was awarded an "Ambassador For Peace" award in Washington DC by the "International Federation for Peace". This was a great honor. 2011 my photos traveled the planet with the United Nations, topic "Women and War Conflict".
