| Introduction | "Sobresaliente" means outstanding in Spanish. By using this name I don't mean that I am outstanding. Quite the opposite, I refer to Sobresaliente as a military rank held by Magellan when at the age of twenty-four he became a member of the expeditionary force to the East. It was the lowest officer rank in Spain in the early 16th century. I am 35 but still Sobresaliente. |
