| Introduction | I am a person who enjoys many things but most of all eating good food. I cook at home for myself and anyone else I can get to eat with me. I eat also in cafes, in restaurants, in parks, in the street, in festivals, wherever eating is possible. I am an obsessional person I think though not clinically I hope. To be sure, I am neither a chef nor a restaurateur but a rank amateur who loves cooking and eating (and drinking). I have another few obsessions to add to my list; feeding my Koi (Nishi Koi = coloured carp = fish), gardening and reading just about anything I can lay my hands on. And last, though maybe not an obsession; Philosophy. Its basically work as I teach it and have done so for many years - my view; all foodies are philosophers of sorts - we can pursue that issue. |

| Favorite books | All books by Elizabeth David, all books by Alice Thomas Ellis, There are many novelists I like to read Sail Bellow, Gore Vidal, Cormack McCarthy and most f the classical Russian writers; Tolstoy, Turgenev, Gogol to name a few - and of course I enjoy reading philosophers, including Richard Rorty, Arthur Danto,Michel Foucault, Spinoza, Sartre, Heidegger, Gadamer and etc. I have specially in my teaching in the work of the Russian psychologist/philosopher, L. S. Vygotskii- ask me about him. |
