Introduction	I was a teacher in Queensland until I joined the Australian Army in 1971. I was posted to the Joint Services College of PNG in 1976 from where I trekked Kokoda in 1977. On return to Australia in 1978, I was posted to the RAAF School of Languages in 1978 and stayed there until 1992. On return to PNG in 1992, I became involved in Kokoda trekking to provide funding to the NGO AIDS Holistics and help people of PNG suffering from HIV/AIDS. Kokoda trekking is great for the health if the trekker is fit and healthy.
